2009 & 2010 Concert Series

“American Faces"

 Friday, October 16th, 2009

Our opening program will be a snapshot of the people who make up this beautiful, diverse population of Americans.  Some of them you will instantly recognize like our special guest artists, the Dick Goodwin Quintet and others will only be vaguely familiar until you hear the music.  One of the new faces you will see and terrific voices you will hear is our winner of the Katie Quackenbush vocal scholarship, Sam Grosby.  Sam will be a senior at Hammond School this fall and is a student of master teacher Tom Brunson.

“American Graces

 Friday, December 18th 2009

Remember the voices of the hose angelic choir from our concert last December?  Get ready to enjoy the beauty of more than 100 voices from Satchel Ford Elementary School, Crayton Middle School and the Falcon Singers from A.C. Flora High School singing your favorite Christmas songs joined by the Sandlapper Singers instrumental ensemble as we celebrate the many things for which we are thankful.

 “American Places”

 Thursday, February 18th, 2010

The season wraps up early next year due to huge community project to help the homeless that the Sandlappers will be spearheading later in the spring. But before spring gets here, we’ll top off our season with a finale that will take us from the sea to shining sea, to a wonderful array of places in the 50 states we call home. Traveling with us will be students from the Performing Arts Center Orchestra at Richland Northeast High School.
